Maker At Heart

Hey there! Welcome to The Barn Dad — a little dream that started with my love for making things with my own two hands. I’ve always been a maker at heart, and once I blended that creative spark with my tech background, laser crafting just clicked. It all began with a simple leather patch for a hat… and I was instantly hooked.

What started with a laser has grown into full-on woodworking, and I’ve discovered that working with my hands is exactly the outlet I didn’t know I needed. Thanks for being here and checking out what I create!

What's In A Name

Now, about the name The Barn Dad—it’s a bit of a story. My daughter discovered her love for horses at a young age, and by the time she was 12, she was taking lessons and had her own horse. As her biggest fan, I was always at the arena, usually the lone dad among a sea of moms. I dove headfirst into the horse world and grew to love it just as much as she did. One day, the arena owner called me The Barn Dad, and the name stuck.

It's Not Just A Business

So why turn The Barn Dad into a business? Well, if you’ve spent even five minutes in the equestrian world, you know it’s not a cheap hobby. The horse itself? Shockingly reasonable. But everything else—feed, vet bills, saddles, show outfits, travel, and yes, even equine chiropractors—adds up fast.

So I thought, why not blend my love for crafting with a way to support my daughter’s passion? That’s how this whole adventure started: making cool, handmade pieces I enjoy creating and sharing them with others, all while helping my daughter chase her dreams.

She’s grown now and lucky enough to fund her own horse obsession, but somewhere along the way this “side hustle” became something I just couldn’t put down. Working with my hands and creating something from scratch brings me a ton of joy—and the best part is seeing someone light up when they get a piece they’ll treasure for years.

Thanks for stopping by—I’m glad you’re here!
